Finned tubes

Extruded

illustration

Extruded aluminum finned tubes manufactured by DH-TS are particularly suitable for applications in the following sectors:

  • Oil refineries, chemical and petrochemical plants
  • Natural gas compression stations
  • Steel mills
  • Steam condensation systems
  • Waste incineration plants

Primarily used in corrosive atmospheres and high temperature conditions, the extruded fin is manufactured by compressing an aluminum sleeve on to a parent tube. High pressure transforms the aluminum into the final fin profile using rotating disks.

Extruded fins offer the following advantages:

  • Full protection of bare tube against corrosion.
  • High mechanical fin strength.
  • May be used at temperature up to 300°C (572 °F)

Embedded “G” type finned tubes manufactured by DH-TS are particularly suitable for applications in the following sectors:

  • Oil refineries, chemical and petrochemical plants
  • Natural gas compression stations
  • Steel mills
  • Steam condensation systems
  • Waste incineration plants

This fin’s primary applications are high temperature or cyclic services:

  • The design consists of an aluminum strip placed into a groove on the primary tube, tension wound on the edge and finally kept in place by the groove lip.

“G” Fins offer the following advantages:

  • Provides a perfect bond between the fin and the tube
  • May be used at temperatures up to 400°C (752°F)
